After I got a few DMs after my last post on what my Human Design *does* say I'm here to do, I realized that I could share a peek of the method to my madness. 

Honestly - this one feels weird to share because I'm not...watering it down. 

Some of you know that I use my own method of working with Human Design to dive into business aspects. 

While I was rabbitholing, I also wanted to dive deeper into what I'm truly here to do than I was originally taught. 

I wanted to look beyond my gifts and abilities to how my energy actually wants to be used. What wants to be transformed. What wants to be expressed. What wants light shined on it.  Looking beyond just gates and channels, and into the planets.

Last year I had to dig this all back up as during emergency hiatus I realized that...somewhere I'd shifted into doing what was easy for me, not what I'm here to do. (So easy to do, right?)

So, this is my reminder - and anchor. Once you have this down, direction is easy - because you all have to do is ask if that goal is attached to one of the things you're here to do. 💋

If you haven't heard, there's a lot of controversy If you haven't heard, there's a lot of controversy about the industry and the way we approach coaching.

....which, about time. 

Current dynamic: Lots of influencer marketers, everyone is a coach, the best way to make money is to circle flirt more business coaches. 

What that's created:

➡️ people not knowing what type of mentorship they really need, and thinking any "coach" is the right type for them 

➡️ people switching to being a "business coach" when their own business is stalling out

➡️ everyone is suddenly a seven figure business, even though statistically...most of them can't be

➡️ people who don't know how to educate or guide trying to do both because it's the "smart" business approach (I'm formally trained in business education, and about 1% of courses I've taken have followed best practices for education!)

Moral of the story: Not everyone's a coach, and it's time to hold the industry accountable to that.

I was reading Tom Felton’s book recently - and t I was reading Tom Felton’s book recently - and thinking about the parasocial lives we live with people.

I’d never met Alan Rickman, but reading stories about him had me tearing up. (Always.)

It’s the same with coaches, mentors, strategists.

It’s why you see pictures of their kids. Look at my family - know what feels like intimate connection! You know me! 

It’s why you see the behind the scenes of the very glam photoshoots. Look, I’m like you! It’s not perfect as you think. You know me! 

Influencer marketing these days is... simply convincing people to partake in a parasocial relationship with you.

To think they know you when they just know the public facets you show.

To trust you because they know you.

To buy because they trust you.

But if there's not truly a relationship, can there be trust? If we break it down....it sounds a bit more like a toxic relationship where people get manipulated to spend large amounts of money based on a very small bit of knowledge that's being dripped to them.

I'll be honest: vulnerable isn't my natural forte. (Hi, neurodivergent quadruple Scorpio here!)

But leaning into that feels a lot better than persuading people with cleverly planned peeks that they "know" me, and therefore I'm safe to invest in.

So, moral of the musing = real connection matters. 💗 (And consciously mind what you consume.)

I have literally never remembered to try that out. (My first morning words are more like "More sleep.")

But maybe my first public words of the month count?
